Burgenland extreme tour 2025: Sport and regional delicacies combined!
The anticipation for the 14th edition of the "Burgenland extreme tour" increases! This exciting event, which takes place on January 24, 2025, expects thousands of sports enthusiasts from near and far. The Burgenland extreme tour is considered the largest movement initiative for hikers in Austria and attracts with more than 4,000 participants. In order to enrich the event culinary, the high -fiber "Walky Weckerl" will go into free sale. After the successful introduction by the vocational school Eisenstadt last year, the Weckerl contains numerous superfoods and is also vegan and is excellent in terms of taste. It not only promotes health, it is also an excellent source of protein, as the meinzirk.at reports.
Governor Deputy Astrid Eisenkopf is pleased with the initiative: “We are extremely pleased that we are not only allowed to introduce our great region to our guests, but can always inspire you again and again. And adventures in regional quality just taste better. In addition to the Weckerl, the traditional Pannonian soup - a hit of the previous year - is also offered again at the Burgenland extremely tour. This nutritious soup is prepared by cooking apprentices and ensures new energy during the event.
innovative bakery cooperation
A particularly exciting element of this project is the cooperation between the domestic bakeries and the apprentices of the Eisenstadt vocational school. Thanks to the latest 3D technology, special shapes can be made for the Weckerl. Sylvia Waba, headmistress of LBS Eisenstadt, emphasizes how important such sustainable school projects are: "This cooperation not only promoted technical knowledge and practical skills, but also strengthened team spirit." Provisions such as the Goldenitsch, Altdorfer and Bayer bakeries know that their products are not only delicious, but also sustainable. The organizer Michael Oberhauser adds: "We bring movement to the bakeries, we are happy!"
This initiative impressively shows how regional production and modern technologies can work hand in hand to provide culinary highlights for a large audience, as can be read at Burgenland.at.
