Burgenländer clubhelden: Youth promotion prices for top sporting performance

Last Thursday, the Sportunion youth promotion prices were awarded in Eisenstadt for the twelfth time. These awards, which are distributed across the entire Burgenland, were awarded to clubs that impressed the jury with its outstanding submissions. This year a total of 3,000 euros were distributed to the participating sports clubs.

Patrick J. Bauer, the state manager of the sports union, explained: "It was a tight race. The jury had great effort to choose the best club with the most excellent youth work among the many high -quality submissions." Since the introduction of these prizes in 2013, more than 40,000 euros have been distributed in the sports clubs to promote youth work. Bauer emphasized how important it is that young people spend time with their favorite sports to secure their future.

The winners in detail

The first place, which is endowed with 1,500 euros, went to the UTC Halbturn. Compared to its small home community, this association has the highest number of children and adolescents in the association. The almost 50 training hours per week that are available to young people are particularly noteworthy. Karin Ofner, the President of the Sports Union, paid homage to the impressive achievements of the association.

The UBC Unger Steel Gunner's Oberwart with an award of 1,000 euros. The association relies on a structured junior program under the title "Young Gunners", where a qualified team of coaches ensures that the children are both well trained and enjoy sport.

third place secured the USVC Wild Volleys Oberschützen. This club has made a name for itself, especially when it comes to inspiring and activating girls for sport.

prices for innovation in dance sport

The Dance Station Austria received a special price for the most innovative project. After the successful completion of the "Everyone’s Dancing" inclusion project, in which people with mental impairments were enthusiastic about dance sport, a bridge was beaten to other dance groups. Together with the "Musicalchicas", the Dance Station now forms an inclusion group that dances together and has joy on stage.

The award ceremony illustrates how committed various clubs are in the promotion of their youth work and how important it is to give children and adolescents access to sporting activities. With these annual prices, the sports union sets a sign of appreciation for volunteer work in the sports clubs.
