The army in the crisis: Minister Tanner promises improvement!

As part of the committee, ten opposition applications were also treated. Two initiatives of the FPÖ, which were aimed at participating in the European Sky Shield Initiative and the support of Ukraine, were rejected. At the same time, suggestions for strengthening the self -sufficiency of the Alltesteig military training area and to stop payments to party -related security institutes were taken into account.

The parliamentary Federal Army Commission for Complaints, which was founded in 1955 and acted today as a democratic test and control organ, has received a total of 2,805 symptoms since 2024. These included sexist statements as well as defects in meals and accommodation. 195 procedures were initiated by these complaints, which clarifies the need to increase the attractiveness of the Federal Army. The Commission also calls for decent accommodations and criticizes bureaucratic obstacles.
