The first assignment took place on Saturday at 4:25 p.m. when a burning tree trunk was registered on Streuriedstrasse. The police found that this was set on fire by strangers. The fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire, so that there was no danger to people or adjacent trees. A total of four vehicles and 30 emergency services were used. Witnesses reported on several young people who fled south from the fire town. A subsequent search by police patrols was unsuccessful.

Another alarm went in at 4:50 p.m. on Sunday when a surface burn was discovered in a forest in the Vorsee parcel. The glow fire initially spread to about five square meters, but was quickly expanded to ten square meters. The fire brigade was used here with three vehicles and 20 emergency services. Here, too, there is suspicion of arson by unknown perpetrators.

The police are now asking witnesses to the incidents to contact the Lustenau police inspection. Interestingly, there have also been several fires in other municipalities such as Wolfurt, Hard, Bregenz and Hohenems in the past few weeks. These often followed a similar pattern in which waste containers and garbage stations were set on fire. The investigators check whether there is a connection between these incidents.
