Beauty triumphs: East Tyrol's most beautiful Noriker mare chosen!
RGO Arena Lienz, Österreich - On May 17, 2025, the annual state show of the Noriker horses took place in the RGO Arena in Lienz, an important event for horse breeding in Tyrol. A total of 165 Norikers from North, South, Welsch and East Tyrol competed against each other in 14 groups to choose the most beautiful specimens. The event was particularly important because the Noriker horse breeding association Tirol celebrated its 125th anniversary. Under high security requirements that were made in advance due to a possible mouth and claw disease, the event was finally successfully carried out. This was regarded by those responsible as a sign of trust in the safety of the horses, which as a freewall cannot develop themselves, but could carry viruses. For the audience, the event begins at 9 a.m.
In addition to the presentation of the best Noriker horses, a special goal was also achieved: "Beauty" by Johann Steiner from Matrei was named the most beautiful Noriker mare of East Tyrol. As part of this festive opportunity, she prevailed among the 165 participants. "Ella" by Hannes Wibmer also secured the title of the reserve winner from Matrei. In each category, three winners were chosen, which demonstrated the diversity and beauty of Noriker breeding. Deputy Governor Josef Geisler was able to accept a certificate that underlined the importance of this event.
