AuthorMatsprenger in Gmunden: Escape at 250 km/h and dramatic accident!

In a new incident of ATM boards in Austria, a car was stolen during a Matura egg after the detonation of an ATM in Gmunden. The vehicle was later found in a forest in full fire. Before the ATM Primers were able to flee, the police pursued the suspects who reached a speed of up to 250 km/h from Linz to Bavaria at a rental car. In a roundabout there was a serious accident during the night of Sunday, in which a suspicious was seriously injured. The investigation showed that the suspicious Dutch citizens were not confirmed, while a connection with the notorious "Mocro-Mafia" was not confirmed, reports [kleinezeitung.at] (https://www.kleinezeitung.at/service/newsticker/chronik/19703100/bankomatsprenger-ver-einer- specialized- organization).

This incident is the 18th ATM in Austria this year. Since March 1, 2023, the Federal Criminal Police Office in cooperation with the state criminal offices in the so -called "SOKO ATM" has been working to react to the increasing number of these offenses. More and more ATM explosions are being registered in Austria, whereby 14 cases have already been known before March 6, 2023, as Kurier.at.

The Modus Operandi the perpetrator

The perpetrators are increasingly professional and mostly use pyrotechnics and a "hit and run" tactics. Escape vehicles have an output of 700 to 800 hp and reach speeds over 200 km/h. The occupants are often equipped with lasers to blind pursuers. The groups of perpetrators are adaptive and apparently withdrawn from the Netherlands to German -speaking countries, since successes in the Netherlands have already been achieved in combating such offenses.

The "Mocro-Mafia", often mentioned as responsible, is not the only group that acts in this context. It consists of around 1,000 members who are organized in small groups of 20 to 100 people. The groups act inconspicuously and quickly, often networked and trained in the Netherlands to work across Europe. The security measures of the Austrian banks are therefore increased to prevent further incidents.

results of the investigation

So far, three suspects have already been caught in connection with the ATM blasts, while information about the fourth perpetrator is currently standing. The police have taken comprehensive measures to avoid DNA traces and to discover escape routes. The aim of the "SOKO ATM" is to create a detailed position in Austria and to share knowledge internationally in order to facilitate the cross -border recognition and combat of such groups, as ooe.orf.at finally reports.
