BABLER demands offensive for the economy - criticism of pension age 70!
Österreich - The SPÖ boss Andreas Babler today commented on the current situation in Austria and highlighted both the successes of the three-way coalition and pointed out challenges. A central topic of his explanations was the planned increase in the age of retirement, a proposal that was expressed in particular by industrial leader Georg Knill and causes controversial discussions. BABLER criticized Knill's advance and recognized that many people fight with health difficulties, which makes a blanket increase in age. The discussion about the Convention on Human Rights within the SPÖ is no longer up to date, which shows that the party is increasingly focusing on the economic challenges.
The SPÖ boss emphasized that the government urgently needs offensive measures to boost the economy. Despite the positive feedback on a recently adopted double budget, Babler sees the current budget situation as difficult. Specifically, he stated that it was important to expand social services and to reduce the stress for socially weaker groups. Babler was particularly proud of the decision to stop rent increases for 2.7 million people - a measure that should counteract inflation.
stability in the pension system
A central concern of the government below, including the SPÖ, is the stabilization of the pension system. Minister of Social Affairs Korinna Schumann confirmed that the statutory retirement age for men remains 65 years and is also increased to 65 years for women by 2033. Men are currently retiring on average at 62.3 years and women at the age of 60.2. In order to achieve savings of 2.9 billion euros, the coalition is planning to increase the factual retirement age.
Nevertheless, Schumann assured that there will be no interventions in the pension increases or the pension account. The regulations for long -term insured persons also remain unaffected. In contrast, experts, including fiscal council boss Christoph Badelt, express concerns about the feasibility of the planned savings and require a gradual increase in the statutory retirement age.
Support for older workers
In addition to the planned changes in the pension area, the government has launched initiatives such as "Fit2work" to support older workers in integrating the labor market. Schumann hopes to convince companies of the potential of this age group to use their workforce in society. The idea is to enable the older employees to stay longer in working life. For in -depth insights into the pension system and various aspects of old -age provision, numerous reports and studies are available. These provide information about current developments in the field of pension insurance and describe, among other things, the new pension access and their effects on various population groups. The reports can be viewed on the side of the [Ministry of Social Affairs] (https://www.social ministerium.gv.at/themen/sociales/socialversicherung/pensiondaten ,-berichte-und-studien.html).
Viewed as a whole, the three-way coalition is faced with the challenge of both the social justice and guaranteeing financial stability. The debates about retirement age and the support of older workers are just two of the topics that have to be discussed intensively in the coming months in order to find a sustainable solution.Details | |
