350 pupils: In the inside inspire at Let's Tech Day in Vienna!
Wien, Österreich - On May 21, 2025, this year's Let’s Tech Day of the OVE (Austrian Association for Electrical Engineering) took place in Vienna, which was devoted to the topic of energy transition. With over 350 participants, including numerous students, the event represented a forum to make technology tangible and to inform about innovative solutions for future energy supply. In his opening speech, OVE Secretary General Peter Reichel emphasized how important qualified specialists and new technologies are for the conversion of the energy system. The aim of the event was to inspire the participants and to give an insight into different professional fields as part of workshops and lectures, whereby Role Models shared their experiences directly from industry.
As part of the Let’s Tech Days, the award ceremony for the Let’s Tech Videow competition also took place, which recorded a record number of 125 videos submitted. The jury, chaired by Stevica Rakic from Austrian Power Grid AG, evaluated the contributions on the topic "How does green power supply look today and in the future?" and recognized outstanding achievements in different categories.

meaning of the education initiatives
The Let’s Tech Day and the associated video competition are part of a greater commitment to promote education in the field of energy and technology. The project "Energy Makes School", initiated by the BDEW Federal Association of Energy and Water Management e.V., has been concentrating for many years to develop teaching and learning materials and to organize competitions and projects for students: inside. The aim is to strengthen the understanding of energy and its importance in the context of the future.
The initiatives and events such as the Let’s Tech Day play a crucial role in stimulating the discussion about the future energy mix and strengthening the knowledge and judgment of students. A holistic approach that also takes into account hybrid teaching methods promotes technical education and prepares the next generation for the challenges of the energy transition.
