New high -voltage giant: Salzburg's energy future takes shape!

An important step for the power supply in Austria has now been carried out with the first partial commissioning of the new salt bravery line. This 380 kV high-voltage line, which leads from the substation in Kaprun to St. Peter on Hart in Upper Austria, is part of a comprehensive, nine billion euro investment program until 2034. The first test runs of the management between the Kaprun and Pongau substation were successful, which was created for the gradual commissioning of the entire system, as Orf Salzburg reported. The long -term goal is to increase the existing salt bravery line 1 from 220 kV to 380 kV in order to significantly increase the transport capacity.

influence on the energy infrastructure

The salt bravery line represents significant progress for the integration of renewable energies and has the potential to reduce the dependency of electricity imports. The management enables the efficient transmission of excess wind and photovoltaic energy from Eastern Austria to the pumped storage power plants in the west, especially in times of low demand. Project manager Herbert Auer emphasizes that the new management of the old "bottle neck" in the Austrian transmission network was eliminated, which significantly increases the security of supply. In the coming months, old 110 kV and 220 kV lines will also be dismantled, which leads to further optimization of the network, said representatives of Austrian Power AG .

The investment not only results in an improvement in the technical infrastructure, but also positive economic effects: over 2,000 jobs were created in Salzburg, and added value in Austria amounts to over 500 million euros. When planning the management, great emphasis was placed on nature conservation, with numerous compensation measures that are considered exemplary worldwide.
