Neustrelitz: Eight months of full closure for bridge construction between Canow and Diemitzer Schleuse
Canow, Deutschland - An enormous traffic restriction is imminent! From January 6, 2025, the bridge between Canow and Diemitz lock will be renewed under full closure. According to Marten Schröder, the spokesman for the Mecklenburg Lake District district, the existing bridge from 1929 is in great need of renovation. The work is expected to last until August 31, 2025 and require a large-scale bypass on the district road MSE 20, the B 198 and the B 122. As Nordkurier reports, the construction of the new bridge will cost 1 million euros, including the repair of the adjacent road and the connecting ditch between Schmidt-See and Labussee.
The construction project also makes a clear traffic regulation necessary to ensure that waste disposal for residents continues to take place. There must be no through traffic, which presents residents with a major challenge. Construction sites of this dimension are often strong interventions in everyday traffic and require adjustments and understanding on the part of the citizens.
dust devil - natural phenomenon with pitfalls
While in this country everything is about the road closures, nature on other continents is no less active. Dust devils that can be observed in the desert of Atacama are impressive vertebrae that arise in a heat. These fascinating wind phenomena can appear harmless, but should not be underestimated. As World Atlas describes in detail, dust devils vertically oriented, rotating air columns that arise under the right air when hot air rises quickly and flows up cold air. They can have a diameter of up to 16 feet and, in rare cases, even pose a danger, especially for aircraft and paragliders.
The dangerous dust devil form in clear, windless weather conditions and are favored by temperature differences. Such events do not belong to the norm, but are a serious security risk in aviation and can lead to accidents in extreme cases.
