Biber save renaturation: millions saved thanks to animal building artists!
A beaver family has contributed to the revitalization of a stream in the Czech Republic and thus drastically reduced not only nature, but also the costs for a renaturation project. On the Klabava River, about 50 kilometers southwest of Prague, the tireless rodents built a dam that enabled the park administration to do without expensive machines and lengthy approval processes. The head of the Brdy Landscape Protection Park, Bohumil Fišer, estimated that the savings could be up to 1.2 million euros through the efficient beater work, as krone.at reported.
The beavers created a natural habitat in record time, which not only clarifies the water of the Klabava, but also supports the domestic fauna, such as the endangered stream crabs. While the park administration had been planning to return the river for years, the beaver have independently and without any delays, as tagesschau.de Surprisingly quickly, the previously dry meadow was transformed into a flowering wetland, whereby the beavers have already created larger dams than originally intended.
natural builders with a clever plan
The beavers, which are also considered hard -working workers, have successfully implemented their construction projects in the past four years without having to fall back on human structures or support. "Beavers are real workaholics," emphasizes Fišer and estimates that a single animal can fell up to 200 trees per year. Your Initiative has not only revitalized nature, but also simplifies the requirements for the park administration. Cost and time-consuming bureaucratic hurdles were simply ignored- proof that nature sometimes works faster and more efficiently than humans. An animal construction project that comes up with a happy ending for the environment and financial planning!
