Viennese government: Historical Pact for the future of Austria!
In a pioneering step, over 94 percent of the members of the NEOS in Vienna have spoken out for the new government pact. Neos boss Beate Meinl-Reisinger described this decision as a "historical moment" for the political landscape of Austria, which not only reflects the liberal principles of the party, but also looks back on the approval of the top of the ÖVP and SPÖ. The NEOs will be represented in the new government with two ministers and a state secretary: Meinl-Reisinger becomes Foreign Minister, Christoph Return takes over the Ministry of Education, and Sepp Schellhorn becomes State Secretary for Deregulation, such as 5min.at reported .
The government will be Chancellor under the direction of ÖVP politician Christian Stocker, while Andreas Babler from the SPÖ will act as Vice Chancellor. BABLER expressed the clear promise that politics would have to take the worries of the citizens seriously in the future and to ensure a safe life. Responsible for important departments such as living, art, culture, media and sport, Babler would like to ensure that these areas remain affordable and accessible to the population. These theses underline the need for a quick access to living space and cultural offers, whereby living space should not be regarded as luxury goods. In addition, Gerhard Karner Interior Minister will remain while Claudia Plakolm is appointed Minister of Chancellor. Multiverse Michaela Schmidt takes over a state secretariat in the Vice Chancellery, such as spoe.at reported .
The new ministers are to be ceremoniously praised on Monday before presenting their government declaration in the National Council on Friday. These steps not only mark a change in the political landscape, but also a meeting of new ideas and challenges for which the government must be prepared.
