Art and faith in focus: Santi Pellegrini inspires in Rome!

In Rome, the impressive art installation "Santi Pellegrini" in the Church of Santa Maria Dell’anima was opened by the brothers Philipp and Christoph Schönborn on March 20, 2025. This installation consists of three bright shrines created by photo artist Philipp Schönborn. They stand on side altars of the famous German -speaking pilgrimage church on Piazza Navona until November 19. The works are dedicated to St. Hildegard von Bingen, Elisabeth of Thuringia and Nicholas of the Flüe. In a service for Josef day, Cardinal Schönborn preached and paid tribute to the work of his brother, who can now be seen together in a church for the first time. "These works of art literally make faith shine," he said.

The rector of the Pontifical Institute, Michael Max, described the saints as bright views of hope that still offer encouragement today.
