In a shocking case, a 37-year-old man from Egypt received a suspended sentence of five years and three months before the Munich Regional Court, after having caught a 33-year-old German he met through social media for over two months. The woman had traveled to Hurghada about eight years ago to start a new life with her internet love, but instead she was abused and raped by him. These atrocities only ended on March 17, 2017, when the Egyptian police freed the woman with the support of the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).
