Österreich - More and more people want to use sustainable cosmetic products, but the actual availability and the searchability of such products leave something to be desired. Current online survey, carried out by marketing agent, interviewed over 1,000 participants and carried out 310 AI-supported deep interviews. The result shows that 55.1 percent of the respondents assess their lifestyle as sustainable and 58 percent today deal more intensively with the topic of sustainability than a few years ago. Despite this growing interest, only 36.3 percent find the search for sustainable products easy.
The survey emphasizes that the price is crucial for many consumers when it comes to buying cosmetics. 72.7 percent state that the price is an important purchase criterion for you, followed by compatibility (72.5 percent) and the fragrance (70.9 percent). Only 40 percent of those surveyed consider sustainability to be a decisive criterion when buying cosmetic products. In addition, 60.7 percent of the participants prefer the familiar products and brands.
sustainability awareness and buying behavior
The survey also shows that 41.7 percent of the participants are willing to spend more money on sustainable care products. At the same time, 28.2 percent deliberately avoided products with non -sustainable packaging. In particular, inquiries about environmentally friendly alternatives have increased in the areas of personal hygiene (31.9 percent), hygiene (31.6 percent) and hair care (26.4 percent). However, consumers also have clear expectations: 73.9 percent demand more environmentally friendly product offers.
Another interesting aspect is the desire for more transparency. Many consumers express the need for better orientation aid for packaging and ingredients. In addition, 70.9 percent of the respondents perceive the economical use of products as easy, while 65 percent of energy -saving measures in the bathroom, as in the use of heating radiation or hot water.
maintenance behavior of consumers
An interesting key figure that emerges from the survey is the median time expenditure for skin and personal hygiene, which is 30 minutes a day. 29 percent of the respondents use up to half an hour, 21.7 percent up to 60 minutes and 9.8 percent take a maximum of 20 minutes for their daily care. On average, consumers come to almost 27 care products per capita, whereby women use significantly more (over 36 products) than men (17 products).
Overall, the survey shows that interest in sustainable cosmetic products is growing, but there are still challenges in availability and transparency. Sustainability is defined as a gentle handling of resources in order not to restrict future generations, which is increasingly demanded by consumers.
