Zonta club brings light into the dark: heart project for the needy

The Zonta Club Nidda-Oberhessen started a special commitment with its “heart project” to support people with limited income at Christmas time. The first step of this pioneering project was visible on the local Rewe market when the delivery bus of the Niddaer Tafel was loaded with 100 plump bags. This was made possible by a generous donation of 750 euros from the Zonta Club and another donation in the same amount of the market manager Sven Turnwald, as in a report by fnp.de described.

This project not only aims to donate food, but also to fulfill specific wishes of the needy. The Zontians want to give small joys for families, single parents and seniors a space that live in finacial hardship. The activists of the Zonta Club have close contact with the board and other social institutions that provide help, and thus know about the current challenges that many people can face. The club plans to provide individual cases, for example for leisure opportunities or personal services that often remain an unfulfilled wish. This can be seen in examples such as the financing of a zoo for children or a visit to the hairdresser for a mother with little income.

support and commitment in the region

Since not all actions can be carried out financially alone, the Zonta Club is dependent on additional support from local retailers and service providers. The members emphasize that public social benefits do not cover all needs and that people are often overlooked in financial difficulties. This shows the great importance of projects such as the "heart project" in order to improve the quality of life for many needy in Nidda. The special commitment of the Zonta Club reflects a long -term tradition of the association, which in the past, as in the report of Zonta.org support.
