Three years of war: Graz aid projects for Ukrainian refugees
Currently there is no view of an end to the Ukraine War. On the occasion of the third anniversary of the conflict, Friedrich Möstl, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Styria, reported in an interview with ORF about his latest impressions from Ukraine. Möstl was with a delegation in Lemberg and noticed that the population there is plagued by war fatigue, but still has an unbroken will to live and hope for peace. Many Ukrainians continue to fight for their values and the European perspective, which is of crucial importance for them, he described.
The numbers speak for themselves: 15,592 Ukrainians have been registered as those seeking protection in Styria. Möstl emphasized that the support from the population was enormous at the beginning of the war but had decreased over time. Nevertheless, there are still urgent need for relief goods, especially for those who seek protection, including many women and children who rely on food and medical care. Last year, over 20 tons of aid deliveries were organized, but the need for solid support would be great, as Consulat-ukraine reported.
