Christmas tree from Lower Austria reaches Brussels: Tradition meets climate protection!
The pre -Christmas period is bringing a special trend this year: more and more people opt for two Christmas trees to enjoy the festive atmosphere longer. "We are becoming more and more received inquiries from customers who want to have a decorative tree before the first weekend in Advent," explains Josef Reithner, chairman of the Lower Austrian Christmas tree builders. According to Reithner, the demand for second -time trees has increased in recent years, with many placing it at the beginning of Advent time to extend the Christmas mood. Especially in urban areas, consumers often use smaller to medium -sized trees in order to create a festive atmosphere despite limited living space. If a second tree is obtained, it is often also relocated to decorative branches from nature to create natural Christmas decoration, such as reports.

Another highlight of the upcoming Christmas season is the magnificent Christmas tree that will decorate the European Parliament in Brussels. It is a 16 -year -old and 3.8 meter high Nordmann fir from Maria Laach, which is transported environmentally friendly to the Belgian capital via ÖBB Nightjet. This tree was selected by the Lower Austria-Christkönigin Ricarda Reithner as well as other representatives of agriculture and the EU Parliament. Alexander Bernhuber, EU member of the ÖVP, emphasizes: "The Christmas tree from Lower Austria is a sign of appreciation for our agricultural and forestry companies." The tree and transport embody the tradition of sustainable forestry and the commitment to climate protection, such as Christmas tree.at.
The combination of the growing interest in several Christmas trees and the symbol of sustainable forestry in Brussels shows how important people are both tradition and the responsible use of nature in this festive time.
