Pig farmers show solidarity: 52,000 euros for people in need!
An impressive sign of solidarity set Austrian pig farmers with their "Pig keeping helps" with their campaign. A total of 665 farmers donated over 52,000 euros to provide 11,000 high -quality meat packages for the needy in the coming months. The Schlachtskunien Dachsberger, Großfurtner and Fleischhof Raabtal have agreed to support the processing and delivery of these packages free of charge. In close partnership with Caritas Austria, the packages are distributed all over Austria, especially in Graz, Krems, Zwettl and Linz, where numerous social institutions such as homeless facilities and senior citizens' homes will benefit. Michael Klaffenböck, Managing Director of Schwein keeping Austria, emphasizes the importance of this action as a sign of solidarity and commitment to fellow human beings. First steps against obesity in children
In another important step to promote a healthy diet, the farmers in Austria have started an educational offensive for around 38,400 first graders. On the occasion of the World Nutrition Day on October 16, farmers bring their stories and extensive knowledge of agriculture into the classrooms. This campaign aims to bring children the value of regional and sustainable food closer and to strengthen the connection to agriculture. The farmers playfully introduce the children into the world of the pumpkin and show how delicious dishes can arise from the fruits.
