Lower Saxony in the goose bankruptcy: Farmers demand millions of compensation!

In the fight for compensation, farmer Hero Schulte from Weener (East Frisia) has achieved a spectacular legal victory. The state of Lower Saxony must now pay compensation if wild geese eat the pastures of the farmers. This was decided by a court after the competent Ministry of Environment under Christian Meier (Greens) has withdrawn without a reason. As a result, a judgment made two years ago became final, which Schulte was able to assert with his lawyer Christian Teppe. According to Schulte, all farmers can now claim their damage from wild geese, which could possibly bring the country to costs in three -digit million amounts, such as Bild.de reported.

Schulte complains about the explosive populations of the wild geese and says that the protection of these birds, introduced by the red-green state government, has led to enormous damage in its fields. The geese ate the entire food for its cows and left the surfaces devastated. "The fields are completely more constant after visiting wild geese," he describes the situation. In order to fix the damage, he has to order expensive food and treat its fields with pesticides, which continues to drive the costs, as in another report by digitalmagazin.de is illustrated.

The decision has far -reaching consequences for agriculture in Lower Saxony. Many farmers could now begin to submit claims for damages if their ground is damaged by wild geese. Schulte has been demanding for years that the wild geese of hunting will be made accessible in order to regulate the strongly increasing population and to facilitate the restoration of the fields. The persistent problem of the existence of the wild geese and the associated economic stress remains an urgent topic in the region.
