Strauss festival in March: waltz, premieres and student concerts!

Wien, Österreich - February 2025 belongs to Johann Strauss, whose fascinating musical world is duly celebrated in Vienna. A special highlight of the upcoming events is the three -part series of events Dance - Move - Sleep, which takes place in various venues from 1st to 8th March 2025. The series begins with the premiere of Liquid Loft and Phace in the reactor and ends with an Austrian premiere of Max Richter's work Sleep in the arsenal painter. On March 10th, the Viennese concert hall will become the scene for the young talents of the city, because over 900 students present their own interpretations of Strauss ’classic melodies. In the exhibition, visitors can immerse themselves deeply into the composer's music world and experience how his melodies are interwoven with those of contemporaries such as Mozart, which underlines the magical influences of his music, as the theater museum describes.

The creative program runs through the entire event and contains fascinating elements that pay homage to the magic of the Strauss dynasty. From March 25th to 30th, the audience will be restarted by the song from the edge of the world or the "Gypsy Baron", a musical new version with a modern twist from the Musicbanda Franui. Finally, the operetta pasticcio with the Viennese Philharmonic, conducted by Franz Welser-Möst, revives the timeless sounds of Strauss and rarely brings to light. This homage to the Waltz king promises an audio -incinerious experience that illustrates the roots and influences of his music and at the same time opens up new creative ways.
