Cultural exchange: Schlaiten and mus celebrate their friendship!

Mus, Frankreich - An exciting partnership between the small East Tyrolean village Schlaiten and the French place Mus takes shape! As dolomitenstadt.at was decided in June 2022 when the local council came up with an innovative idea that by Monsieur Ghislain Marcant, a local council with an Austrian-French reference. In May 2025, a delegation from Schlaiten will travel to Mus to consolidate this exciting connection. The trip takes place from May 25th to 31st and promises culture and culinary highlights, including stopover in Nice and an exploration of the beautiful Camargue. So far, 21 people have already registered, with at least 30 registrations required to make the trip financially portable. Myriam Détruy, who is responsible for the organization, encourages everyone to enroll, and assures that the language barrier is not an obstacle.

The preparations in MUS are also in full swing, such as Archyde.com . A creative concept for the exchange of cultural and tourism was presented at the last municipal council meeting. From May 26th to 31st, the Schlaitner in Mus expects a varied program, which includes visits to the wine cellar, excursions to historical sites such as Aigues-Mortes and Uzès as well as local festivals. In addition, a digital range of exchange for the students of the CM2 classes is set up by both municipalities, which gives young people the opportunity to get in touch with modern means of communication. After visiting the Tyrolean, a trip to Schlaiten for the Mussois and Mussois will be planned for 2026.

The enthusiasm for this intercultural exchange is great and offers both young and older generations the opportunity to close new friendships and exchange experiences. Ghislain Marcant emphasizes the importance of these contacts: "For a successful partnership, it is crucial that we welcome the Tyroleans in our community." A call for active participation was included in the community brochure in order to encourage as many residents as possible to help shape the events. Mus, we are coming!
