Festive music magic: New Year's concerts conquer the Palatinate!
The Förderverein Palatinaklassik organizes a number of New Year's concerts on the Rhine and Weinstraße, which are very well received by the visitors. One of the highlights of the music year is the traditional performance of the Christmas Oratorio of Johann Sebastian Bach on December 19 in the Historical Museum in Speyer, while an Advent concert took place on December 14th in Neulußheim. On December 26, a Christmas concert will be performed in the monastery church in Eugerthal. In addition, a return to Eußerthal is planned on Whit Monday, June 9th.
The festivals of the Speyer and Deidesheim music autumn are planned, whereby the appointments still have to be determined. The music autumn at the Weinstrasse in Deidesheim will be organized for the third time this year. The New Year's concert, which is planned for January 12 at 5 p.m. in the Catholic parish center in Waldsee, promises a festive concert of the Baroque ensemble, which includes works by Bach, Vivaldi, Johann Strauß, Nils Gade and Antonin Dvorak.
Highlight of the New Year's concert
The New Year's concert recently took place with a "fireworks" of music, led by Leo Kraemer. The performance began with the overture to Handel's "fireworks music", performed by the Palatinak classic brass ensemble. Among the contributors were the solo trumpeter Manfred Bockschweiger and other talented musicians. The Palatinaclassical Vocal Ensemble sang under the direction of Leo Kraemer Choirs from Handel's "Der Messiah" and works by Beethoven. Robert Frank and Leo Krämer delighted the audience with Beethoven's romance in F major for violin and piano. Michael Wagner also sang Adolphe Adam's "Cantique de Noel", while the trumpeter Bockschweiger and Wendt performed "Trumpet Voluntary" by Jeremiah Clarke. The audience rewarded the performances with minutes long, standing applause.
The concert series Palatinas classic in the Palatinate promotes art and culture and was founded in 2012. It comprises top-class music events that are awarded by positive audience resonance and press reviews. Various ensembles, including vocal, brass and baroque ensembles, are currently involved in the performances. Prof. Leo Krämer is the head of the sound body and, together with the chairman Michael Wagner, ensures the musical differentiation of the events.
For the next performance of the Christmas Oratorio (parts 1 to 3) by Johann Sebastian Bach on December 20, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. there is a high demand for tickets, which is available at palatinaklassik@t-online.de or by phone at 06232 36225. Further information on the events can be found on the Palatina classic website, as well as for the positive discussion of the performances by the Rheinpfalz, which praises it.
