Gun fails in the café: prevented terrorist drama in Neukölln!
In the night of Friday, Neukölln, a district in Berlin, became the scene of a dramatic incident. At around 1:30 a.m., an armed man stormed into a café on Sonnenallee and called: "Now you die!" While the guests present were panicked, the perpetrator apparently wanted to commit a murder crime, but failed his gun: she had inhibition. According to Bild.de then escaped without shooting.
The alarmed police immediately started persecution. The officials searched for the fleeting suspect with a heavy rifle, equipped with machine guns. A little later he was discovered at the Mareesstraße and Brusendorfer Straße intersection, where he hid behind a van - but without the weapon that was finally found in a trash can. During the review, it turned out that it was a sharp weapon. If it had worked, that would probably have come to a bloodbath in the café. When arrested, the man had a high alcohol content of 2.3 per thousand, which raises additional questions about his motifs.
modernization of police equipment
Another topic that has caused excitement recently, is the modernization of the Berlin police. After 37 years, new service pistols are to be purchased. Interior Senator Andreas Geisel has announced that 12,000 modern pistols and ballistic protective vests are procured in order to increase the willingness of the police. The old service weapons, such as the Sig Sauer P225, are now being replaced by modern models. This measure is part of a comprehensive security program that also includes the procurement of new machine guns, as on SEC-E-EIGENZUNG.de is reported.
With an investment volume of around 18.1 million euros, investments are not only invested in the weapons of the police, but also in additional protective measures such as around 6,300 new ballistic protective vests. These developments show that the Berlin police have to modernize their equipment in order to be able to act more effectively in the fight against crime.
