A shocking find shakes the Viennese favorites when a body was discovered in a suitcase on Friday. The cruel incident, which was reported around 3 p.m., suggests a possible violent crime. A passerby had informed the police call after seeing the suitcase next to a waste container. The police then blocked the area between Hofherrgasse and Randhgartergasse to carry out investigations. A large tent was set up to secure the crime scene, while the investigation by the State Criminal Police Office Vienna was in full swing, as the Kleine Zeitung reported.

The first results of the investigation are still pending, but the injuries to the male corpse indicate a violent crime. A forensic medical report and a DNA analysis are in progress in order to clarify the exact cause of death and possibly the identity of the victim. No new findings were yet to be reported on Saturday, which further reinforced the public concern. According to the FPÖ district chairman Stefan Berger, this has not been the first brutal incident in this district for a long time. "Favorites have long been a crime hotspot," criticized Berger, urgently demanding the police forces as well as more funds to combat the increasingly worse crime.
