Ahlen, Deutschland - Warendorf (ots)

An alarming incident is currently shaking Ahlen! Fraudsters pretend as a bank employee and try to bring unsuspecting citizens around their savings. On Monday, November 4, 2024, a 65-year-old woman received a call for a supposed bank employee who urged her to use her online banking app and to provide orders. Thanks to her healthy distrust and quick action, she managed to keep her money from an evil fate.

The call was presented to the woman a fictitious plan that should tempt her to be tempting. But instead of listening to the fraudster, the Ahlener simply put on and contacted her bank directly! Here she learned that attempts have already been made to transfer money to foreign accounts - luckily unsuccessfully. Your vigilance should serve as a shining example!

Caution is better than forbearance!

The police urgently warns of this fraudulent stitch. If you receive a similar call, you should consider these points: Never give your PIN or account details on the phone! Clearly reject claims and search for contact with the bank independently. Real bank employees do not require sensitive information on the phone.

In the event that money has already been debited, quick measures are required: If you immediately block your account access under number 116116, inform your bank and report the incident of the police! Find out more information about contact options so as not to fall into your hands.

Such curvy attempts at fraud are becoming increasingly common, and everyone should protect themselves from it. The police offer versatile information about other fraud stitches - for example the tricky stitch with false police officers. Protect yourself and your money!
