Celebrate diversity: Police Rheinpfalz is involved in intercultural week

In the last week of September it was time again: the intercultural week took place, a nationwide event that is dedicated to promoting diversity and the fight against racism. Under the motto "New Rooms", numerous people gathered in the Vorder- und Südpfalz to present their culture and step into dialogue with others. This event not only comes for tolerance, but should also promote the coexistence of different cultures.

The Rheinpfalz police headquarters took the opportunity to actively participate and strengthen their presence in the community. The police officers and police officers are as diverse as the people who protect and support them. A remarkable step was the participation of the Germersheim police inspection, which took part in the event of the Advisory Board for Migration and Integration in BBS Germersheim on September 22, 2024. This not only offers access to the police's tasks, but also promotes the exchange between different cultures.

The Neustadt police inspection was also active and on September 29, 2024 there was an information stand at the event "Many Cultures - One City" on the marketplace in Neustadt. These events are particularly important because they offer people the opportunity to exchange ideas about cultural differences and share common experiences.

Another innovative step within the police headquarters is the appointment of Hayat Erten as the first integration officer at a Rhineland-Palatinate police authority. This pilot project, which was launched in February 2024, aims to reduce cultural barriers and strengthen acceptance for diversity. Hayat Erten wants to act as a link between the police and the immigrant communities.

In addition, on September 27, 2024, she visited the "Intercultural Festival" in the Hack Museum Garden in Ludwigshafen. Together with a dialogue officer from the Frankenthal police inspection, she brought her perspective and promoted the exchange between the police and the migrant population. The dialogue officers strengthen contact with local migrant associations and institutions, which supports integration and mutual understanding.

The Rheinpfalz police headquarters have a great responsibility and is responsible for the safety of more than 900,000 people. The service includes an area of around 2,400 square kilometers and extends over the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, the districts of Bad Dürkheim, Germersheim as well as the independent cities of Frankenthal, Landau, Ludwigshafen, Neustadt an der Weinstraße and Speyer.

In order to get a more detailed insight into the work of the police headquarters, there is a look at the brochure "We for the Palatinate", which includes a lot of interesting information. This initiative clearly shows that the police are trying to beat a bridge and create a room for understanding and tolerance.
