Darmstadt, Deutschland - drama in Darmstadt! On Wednesday afternoon (November 13th), the city center and the surrounding area shook extensive police control campaigns. Planned and carried out as part of the immediate program "Safe Downtown", the officials set all levers in motion to increase security - and with moderate success. The stripes were supported by special forces of the riot police to act against increasing crime.

The emergency services stopped a total of 56 vehicles on federal road 26 between 1 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and controlled 86 people - but here they were spared negative reports. However, a completely different picture was around the main train station: Here the officers carried out 40 people checks, in which three people were arrested. A 17-year-old was caught with a one-hand knife in his pocket, while an 18-year-old was tracked down with illegal pyrotechnics-a sky-screaming danger! But that wasn't all!

A 19-year-old from Griesheim also fell victim to the police's watchful eyes: 38 grams of hashish, neatly packed in 13 sachets, and a fine scale was also secured. Several hundred euros in cash, probably from drug sales, were also discovered. The arrested person had to undergo an immediate apartment search. However, the controls on Schleiermacherstrasse and in the rondell also remained not without result: in two other cases, small quantities of heroin were ensured, which forced the police to refer to ads and for an identification treatment.

The previous balance of search and control implementation shows on the one hand the police's efforts to combat increasing crime. However, the arrests and drug finds underline how necessary these measures are for the security of all citizens in and around Darmstadt. The operation can be seen as a success in maintaining the rule of law, even if it has to be overcome greater challenges!
