At 11:30 a.m. it crashed at the Münsterweg/Torfdamm intersection when a 28-year-old Ladbergener was involved in a heavy collision with his Opel Meriva. The young driver apparently ignored the right of way and crossed the intersection, while a Mercedes on the Münsterweg came closer towards Lengerich.
The impact was violent! The Mercedes, led by a 43-year-old Lengericher, overturned and landed in the adjacent trench. While the Lengericher was only slightly injured and brought to a clinic, the Ladbergener experienced a dramatic rescue operation. He stayed in his vehicle and had to be freed from the fire brigade. He was also transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The exact damage to the vehicle has so far been unclear, but the emergency services were on alert.
