A huge accident on BAB 61 shook the drivers in the south direction! On November 12, 2024, around 2:15 p.m., there was a shocking meeting between a truck and a Skoda in the area of the Ludwigshafen motorway junction. The 63-year-old driver of the compact car was simply not able to react in time and crashed into the rear of a tract trim with full force. The consequences? Tragic! A 71-year-old insassin in Skoda suffered serious injuries, while another 55-year-old passenger was only slightly injured. The material damage amounts to a horrendous 10,000 euros because the Skoda is considered total damage!

The drama started when rescue workers, fire brigade and police immediately arrived at the scene of the accident. The 41-year-old long-distance driver of the truck remained intact as if by a miracle! However, the highway had to be closed to the south for about an hour to carry out the clean-up and salvage work. A rescue helicopter and an emergency doctor were also quick to help the injured person.

The Ruchheim motorway police and the Schifferstadt police were responsible for the investigation and regulation of the traffic.
