Student uses play money at the school kiosk - police warn of counterfeits!
Stadthagen. A student of IGS Schaumburg caused excitement when he paid for real play money at the school kiosk! The "Biobude" employees only later noticed that three 5 euro notes were fake. The incident was quickly informed by the headmistress Astrid Budwach and a colleague who informed the police and contacted the students and his parents.
"It is important to me that awareness of the topic of play money is created," emphasizes Budwach. She advises the parents to pull the play money out of circulation because the temptation to pay in shops is too great. "The play money looks really surprisingly real and the feel is similar," she warns. Budwach has informed all 1100 parents that this play money is common among the students. The student affected had received the money from friends from the neighborhood.
Pay money out of traffic
The police have initiated criminal proceedings for the "on the market of counterfeit money" after the incident became known. But the good news: Since the student is under 14 years old, he is not guilty. "We will educate child -friendly misconduct," explains a police spokesman. Parents are asked to explain the difference between real money and play money to their children and to make it clear to them that they are not allowed to pay.
To help the children recognize the difference, practice sets can be ordered from the Deutsche Bundesbank. In individual cases, the police check whether there is a crime, the intention to use the counterfeit money as real. Parents should be vigilant and educate their children about the dangers of play money!
