Parents were informed in a letter that there was a criminal complaint against the teacher. The police confirm that the investigation is underway and the incident is said to have occurred at the end of August of this year.

The police inspection in Verden/Osterholz, represented by spokeswoman Fenja Land, emphasizes that it is so far only a suspicion. In a parent letter dated September 26, it is stated that the daycare center did not immediately inform the parents on the police's urgent recommendation. Land makes it clear that there was no ban on communication, but details about the crime and the procedure must not be published in order not to endanger the investigation. The daycare management emphasizes that the protection of the children has top priority.

Sonja Oelfke, the deputy facility manager, explains that the incident is currently being informed. The SOS Children's Village carrier has clear guidelines in order to take crossing border seriously and act quickly. "Protecting the young people we look after has always been the core of our work," says Oelfke. To prevent attacks, there are preventive measures and further training for all employees. In addition, two child protection specialists are available in the children's village.

However, the investigation is challenging, in particular the questioning of the child concerned. The police must ensure that the child can be interviewed in a protected framework.
