Batch at the winemaker festival: Police are urgently looking for witnesses!

In the late hours of October 5, 2024, the winemaker festival in Braubach, which is known for his festive atmosphere, occurred a violent discussion. Around midnight, a concerned citizen informed the Lahnstein police inspection about a fight with several participants in Rheinstrasse. Witnesses reported that one person was lying on the ground and several others were involved.

Then the police from Koblenz 1 and a dog handler went to the site. When they arrived, the officials found two injuries treated by paramedics. According to initial information, there is first a dispute between the two injured and two main offenders, which quickly escalated. A group of another three to five people then interfered and injured the victims by kicks and blows.

the perpetrators and the escape

The two main perpetrators could be described as men with Mediterranean appearance, about 180 cm tall, between 25 and 30 years old and with dark hair and full beard. After the incident, the attackers fled towards the festival area, which caused the police to initiate an extensive search, but which was unsuccessful.

The injured parties who were released after medical care on site said that they were injured in the incident when they tried to help each other. Such violent attacks are particularly questionable at such festivals, since they are very stressful for visitors and organizers and question the general security in the region.

The Lahnstein police are now looking for witnesses to the incident and asks them to report with information. It remains to be seen whether the testimony can gain further knowledge about the perpetrators and their motivations. In order to prevent such incidents in the future, both the security forces and the organizers of the events are required to take appropriate measures.
