Saarland under control: speed measurements in the 41st kw!

In the next week, the Saarland police will again carry out targeted speed controls in various areas of the federal state. Between October 7 and 13, 2024, numerous checkpoints are planned that aim to increase traffic safety and, above all, to act in the focus of accidents. These measures are used in particular on streets with a high accident rate, where violations of speed limits are often found.

On Monday, October 7th, 2024, speed measurements are carried out on the B 51 between Völklingen and Saarlouis as well as on the B 41 between Neunkirchen and St. Wendel. In addition, the B 51 between Saarbrücken and Kleinblittersdorf is monitored.
On Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, Merzig-Wellingen and the B 269 between Saarlouis and Lebach are on the control list. The area of the BAB 623 between AS Saarbrücken-Herrensohr and ad Friedrichsthal is also checked on this day.
for Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the police are planning controls in Heusweiler, on the B 51 between Saarhölzbach and Merzig and on the BAB 8, which touches the border with Luxembourg.
On Thursday, October 10, 2024, speed reviews on the BAB 6 between the French state border and the Neunkirchen motorway cross, the BAB 620 between the Saarlouis motorway triangle and the Saarbrücken junction as well as on the B 423 towards Habkirchen and Blieskastel will take place.
On Friday, October 11th, 2024, Neunkirchen is targeted, as well as the B 406 between Sinz and Oberleuken and the B 268 between Nunkirchen and Lebach.
The Saturday, on October 12, 2024, the BAB 8 has provided as a control location between the Rhineland-Palatinate border and AS Merzig.
On the last day of control, October 13, 2024, pace is finally monitored on the BAB 6 between St. Ingbert and the French state border.
The choice of checkpoints is based on an analysis of the accident statistics, which take into account both accident frequency and the severity of the consequences. This is intended to take targeted measures to improve traffic safety.
An important note: In addition to the announced speed controls, spontaneous measurements can also be made in other places. Due to operational aspects, some of the planned controls could also be omitted.
