In a shocking incident on federal road 484 in Lohmar-Wahlscheid, a 12-year-old cyclist was injured in a traffic accident. The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon (October 31) around 3:50 p.m. when a 70-year-old driver from Bergisch-Gladbach disregarded a red ampell light. Despite the dramatic circumstances, the child, who was protected with a bicycle helmet, was luckily not in mortal danger.
The Situation escalated when the driver who was traveling from Overath towards Lohmar crossed the intersection to Wahlscheider Strasse. While the young cyclist used the pedestrian crossing in green light, the Opel Corsa crashed against him with full force and hurled it onto the windshield. Fortunately, an emergency doctor who quickly arrived by rescue helicopter was able to give the all -clear after the first examination.

The injured child was immediately taken to a hospital with an ambulance - the parents were already on site and were able to accompany their son. The driver is now being determined for negligent bodily harm in road traffic, while the police are examining the exact circumstances of the accident by the traffic commissioner.
