Jüchen: Drunk man victims of brutal attacks by young people!

Jüchen (ots)

In a worrying incident, on Tuesday evening, October 8th, the Niersstraße attacked a 42-year-old man from Mönchengladbach. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. when the man was apparently insulted by a group of unknown youth. In the course of the dispute, he was beaten on the head with a bottle. The group consisted of five male and three female adolescents aged 14 to 17 and then disappeared in an unknown direction. It is particularly striking that one of the attackers was corpulent and wore a headscarf.

In this incident, the injured party, obviously alcoholic, aggressively, showed a medical care despite visible injuries. As a result, the police found two bicycles in the nearby “Old Cemetery” park that may have belonged to the attackers.

second attack within a short time

But violence did not stop here. Around 9:20 p.m. there was an attack again on Bahnhofstrasse, in which the same 42-year-old was attacked and kicked again by a group of strangers. A witness reported about one of the attackers who was between 16 and 18 years old, of slim stature and had black, curly hair.

After the perpetrators moved towards Peter-Bamm-Halle, the injured victim was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. The renewed incident indicates a possible danger from this group.

These incidents called the police on the scene. The responsible criminal commissioner 24 has taken up the investigation and is urgently looking for witnesses who can provide relevant information. Anyone who has seen something or has further information is asked to report to the police at 02131 3000.

In view of these two brutal attacks, the question of security in public spaces in the region arises. The police are trying to bring light to the background of this incident, while the examination of the first and second attack is in full swing. The current events illustrate the need for increased protection against such attacks and the question of how such violent groups can be targeted.
