On Tuesday afternoon, a remarkable incident became known in Mainz-Schenau, which highlights the importance of civil courage. An attentive passer-by was a witness to a fall of a 94-year-old man and acted quickly to help him. The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. when the police were informed of the fire brigade that there may be a helpless person in an apartment.

The older gentleman had previously fallen on the street and had injured himself on the back of the head. Immediately after the fall, the witness called the emergency services and took care of the injured man. Despite her efforts, however, the senior did not want to wait for the rescue workers and made her way home, supported by the passer -by. Following the fall, the emergency services found only a lot of blood at the original location, which made the situation appear threatening.
