Graffiti alarm in Ludwigshafen: Police are looking for witnesses!

in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, a nightly incident caused a sensation when the Federal Police patrol service discovered two men at around 1:50 a.m. on October 10, 2024 who suspected a parking facility of Deutsche Bahn AG. During their control, the officers found a bag with several spray cans. They were probably a graffiti sprayer.

When the police wanted to arrest the two, the men immediately fled. Direct persecution was successful: a 20-year-old German was captured. During a search, it turned out that his clothes were covered with color splashes. In addition, the officers found garden gloves in his bag, which were also smeared with color. This strongly indicated that he was actively involved in the spraying of the graffiti.

freshly sprayed graffiti discovered

An exploration of the immediate surroundings led the officials to a nearby train station in Mundenheim. There they came across a freshly sprayed graffiti, the color of which was still damp and strong smelling. The colors corresponded exactly to the spray cans found in the pocket of the arrested. This increases the suspicion of his participation in property damage.

When the investigation progresses, the federal police are now asking the public for clues. They are urgently looking for witnesses who have observed the incident or can provide other relevant information. The suggestions can be sent by email to the Federal Police Inspection Kaiserslautern, either at bpoli.kaiserslautern@polizei.bund.de or by phone at 0631/340 730 as well as on the free service number 0800/6 888 000.

This development is particularly important because graffiti is often considered vandalism and may lead to the determination of further perpetrators. The federal police hopes to counteract this trend with the help of the population.
