In the tranquil city of Buxtehude, a nightly crime caused excitement. In the period between 9:30 p.m. and 1:45 a.m., two men in the city center have mischiefed their misconception. The police were informed about a witness -led emergency call at around 01:45 a.m., which reported suspicious activities on window panes in Bahnhofstrasse. At the subsequent arrest it turned out that the two men, a 22-year-old Hamburger and a 21-year-old Portuguese without a permanent residence, were already known for property crimes.

The evening started with a failed attempt to break into a café on Langen Straße. The two men could not penetrate the café, but a little later they produced the alarm in a nearby cell phone shop, where they violently destroyed the front door and then fled after they had stolen some. Residents had been able to film the perpetrators, which later led to the identification of the two.

The arrest and further investigations

After their first success, the thieves had not given up. On Bahnhofstrasse they tried again to penetrate another mobile phone shop and a restaurant. Witnesses immediately reported to the police and gave valuable information that led to a faster arrest. The officials were finally able to arrest the duo on Brüningstraße / Tostedenstrasse.

The decision of the Stade public prosecutor about possible arrest warrants against the two perpetrators is still pending, but it is expected to be expected on Wednesday.
