Drug find in Ratingen: Police arrest two suspects!

In a dramatic assignment in Ratingen on Tuesday morning (November 19, 2024), the police showed their presence together with the city as part of the “Zoom” project. The manouvre took place in a homeless accommodation on the street "Am Sandbach" - and what the officials discovered there is shaken by the whole region! Between 6:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., the police were not only able to pull several illegally grown cannabis plants out of circulation, but also arrest two men who are apparently deeply involved in criminal activities.

In their raids, an e-bike advertised for search was ensured and a real treasure trove of drugs was found in another apartment: in the freezer of a refrigerator there was a considerable amount of amphetamines. In addition, the emergency services met with packaging material, several knives and chemicals used to produce amphetamines! The two suspects, a 35-year-old German and a 29-year-old German-Turk, were arrested and brought into custody Mettmann. These men are not new territory for the police, since they have already become a record of narcotics in the past. A judge could soon decide what will happen to them.

The zoom project in the focus

What is behind the "zoom project"? This stands for "goal -oriented operational measures" - a clever approach by the district police authority Mettmann to combat crime! Inspired by the zoom function of a camera, the police aim to take a close look at different districts and thus take targeted measures. Each quarter is targeted every three months in order to effectively say the fight for crime. And the results are more than revealing!

But not enough - the regulatory office of the city of Ratingen also had a lot to do, because they also could not avoid punishing numerous violations of the house rules and fire protection. This is only the beginning of a determined approach to drugs and illegal activities in the region!
