Drug find in the hotel: Two arrests after a suspicious package in St. Pauli
Hamburg (ots)
In the night of October 9, 2024, the Hamburg police were called to a hotel in St. Pauli after employees noticed a suspicious package. At 10:10 a.m., a courier submitted a package to the reception, which offered the employees reason to worry, which led to an immediate alarm to the police.
When the investigators arrived, they found that the package contained around seven kilograms of marijuana. This led to the quick arrest of two men in front of the hotel: a 36-year-old Norwegian who wanted to pick up the package, and a 38-year-old courier who had delivered the package.
Investigations and searches
The Department of Rogian Crime (LKA 6) took over the investigation. Following the arrests, the officials searched both the hotel room of the Norwegian guest and the vehicles of the two men. Mobile phones and various documents were secured during the search. However, the emergency services found no further drugs.
The two men, the courier and the hotel guest, were brought to the prison after a detectional treatment, where they should appear in front of a judge the day after their arrest.
These incidents emphasize the critical role of the hotel employees, who have contributed to the arrest of alleged drug dealers through their vigilance and quick response. While the investigation continues, both the public and the investigative authorities and the media remain interested in the progress of this case.
The background of the package delivery and the complications of the two men will be examined in more detail in the coming days, whereby the public prosecutor is also involved in the case.
