on Tuesday evening, around 8:49 p.m., the police in Wilhelmshaven were informed about a traffic accident that occurred in the Göker-/Bismarckstrasse intersection. A 68-year-old resident of the city caused several accidents that could be attributed to health problems.

The driver was traveling south with his own car on Gökerstrasse when he collided with another vehicle shortly after the intersection. This rear -end collision was the first of a total of three accidents that happened in quick sequence.

After the collision, the older man switched to the other lane and touched a cyclist who fell through the collision and slightly injured. Immediately afterwards, while he passed the intersection to Bismarckstrasse, he ran a traffic island and not only damaged a traffic light, but also a light mast and a stationary red light monitoring system.

The 68-year-old's vehicle was considerably damaged after the several clashes and had to be towed. During the accident recording and subsequent cleaning work, the intersection area was temporarily closed to traffic. The driver himself also suffered minor injuries. The police are now examining what health problems led to these accidents and announced further investigations.
