Thieves strike: wallets and cars stolen on the bright day!

In the districts of Verden and Osterholz, there have been several incidents in the past time that the police called on the scene. The local security forces employ these events and ensure concerned citizens.

The first incident occurred in Achim, where an 80-year-old woman was stolen in a grocery store on Embser Landstrasse. The thief crept into the store and reached into the handbag of the customer. The wallet, which contained personal papers in addition to cash, also failed. The police advise the population to safely stow valuables to avoid similar incidents.

Another incident that took place in Verden concerns a series of burglaries into parked vehicles. In the night of Wednesday, eight cars were targeted in the urban area. The perpetrators hit the side windows of the vehicles and then searched the interiors. They stole various objects such as tools and clothing. The police have already started investigations into severe theft and asks witnesses who noticed suspicious activities during the night.

Thieves also became active on the Langwedel rest area. Between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., unknown perpetrators penetrated into a small van parked there and stole several televisions. In Lilienthal there was a fire brigade and police at around 2 p.m. when a tractor caught fire during work. The cause of the damage is probably a technical defect, and there was considerable damage to property because the vehicle burned out completely. Fortunately, no people were injured.

There was another incident in Worpswede, where a motorcyclist was slightly injured in an accident. The accident occurred around 5:20 p.m. when an agricultural vehicle with a trailer turned into Heudorfer Strasse and wanted to overtake two motorcyclists. While one motorcyclist was able to slow down in time, the other got into trouble and fell. There he was caught under the trailer and had to be taken to the hospital with an ambulance.
