A homestead in Paderborn was hit by a devastating fire on Thursday night on Thursday, October 31! An abandoned farmhouse on the strongly frequented B64 between Paderborn and Delbrück was on fire, and the cause of the inferno remains a mystery! The police investigations are in full swing, because the exact origin of the fire is still unclear.
The horror started for an attentive witness around 2:40 a.m. when he saw the flickering light on the left side of the B64 on his way to work. The 38-year-old immediately headed into the access of the farm and discovered the angry fire in the uninhabited half-timbered house, which was full of straw bales! In his determination, he not only alerted the fire brigade, but also warned three neighbors from an adjacent house.
traffic chaos and high damage
While the fire brigade fought, the B64 between Graf-Mererveldt-Straße and Anreppener Strasse had to be closed for a whopping seven hours! Traffic flow? None! Fortunately, despite the huge fire, there were no injuries. But the price for this mischief is high: the total damage is estimated at around 200,000 euros! A fire that not only shocked eyewitnesses, but now also keeps the investigators in suspense.
