on the night of Sunday, October 6, 2024, a traffic accident occurred in Dannstadt-Schauerheim, which caused a sensation. A 65-year-old driver from the region drove on the L530 around midnight and turned left into Friedhofstrasse. There was an unpleasant incident: she collided with a provisionally set -up berry shield and then crashed into a house wall.

After the impact that no longer made the car ready to drive, the driver left her car behind. The Schifferstadt police inspection was informed shortly afterwards by witnesses who had given information about the incident. At the subsequent review of the woman at her home address, it turned out that she was under alcohol. A breath alcohol test carried out resulted in a value of 0.68 per thousand, which is well above the permitted limit. The woman said she had to avoid pedestrians, but this was not seen as an excuse for the carelessness.

The officials of the Schifferstadt police initiated a procedure against the driver. She was brought to the office, where a blood sample was taken from her. In addition, her driver's license was ensured, which appears only logical in the severity of the incident. The police estimate the total damage caused by this accident at around 5000 euros.

The authority has already initiated criminal proceedings for suspicion of the risk of road traffic and the escape escape.
