Yamanishi cracks world record in the street - a new star in the sky!
A spectacular day for athletics: The Japanese Toshiku Yamanishi has set up a new world record in the streets of walking over 20 kilometers at the national championships in Kobe. On the day after his 29th birthday, Yamanishi covered the distance in an incredible 1:16:10 hours and thus undercut the previous record of his compatriot Yusuke Suzuki by 26 seconds. In his career, Yamanishi can already look back on two world championship titles in this discipline and an Olympic bronze medal from 2021 in Tokyo, such as krone.at.
But the flood of records does not tear off! On the same day, Jacob Kiplimo from Uganda also set up the world's best time in the half marathon in Barcelona. With a time of 56:41 minutes, he exceeded the old record of the Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha by a whopping 49 seconds. These outstanding achievements show that the competition in the athletics sector is becoming increasingly stronger. The Norwegian Jakob also recently improved two indoor world records over 1500 meters and the mile in a race in Liévin, while US runner Grant Fisher clearly dependent on the 20-year-old 5000-meter record of Kenenisa Bekele in Boston, such as yahoo news reported.
The world of athletics is in a race for records, and the athletes seem to know no boundaries. Yamanishi's impressive performance and the success of the other athletes are a clear sign that sport remains exciting and full of surprises.
