Tears of joy: Austria celebrates gold and an injured happiness
An emotional day for Austrian skiing! The ÖSV President Roswitha Stadlober and women's head coach Roland Assinger flowed the tears of joy after Stephanie Venier's sensational gold. "I have goose bumps, I had tears in my eyes. It is an incredible day for Austria," said Stadlober in a moving interview with ORF. Despite the jubilation, there is a drop of bitterness: Ricarda Haaser was injured. "Happiness and bad luck are so close," emphasized Stadlober.
Stadlober, who is also inspired by the success of her teammate, sees the team as a dangerous outsider. "We are well positioned and can only win. Everyone believes in what they can do. We have a good basic speed, and we prove that we are quick." Assinger was visibly touched and fought with his emotions. "This is very important for the whole team. In the end, only gold, silver and bronze count-we have gold," said the 51-year-old, whose voice trembled in these words.
Luis Stadlober and his sporting career
Even if the focus is on women today, it is important to take a look at Luis Stadlober, who started for SC Sparkasse Radstadt and has celebrated both national and international success in the past. From 2008 to 2016 he took part in the Alpine Cup and had his best placement with ninth place in the freestyle sprint in Rogla 2015, as wikiwand reported . Although he ended his career in March 2019, he remains a well -known face in Austrian skiing, and the conversations for his sporting memories are still being held today.
A moment to celebrate and to commemorate the challenges that sport brings! While the Austrian athletes are happy about the historical success, the hope for a soon recovery of Haaser is preserved. The upcoming competitions promise to be exciting!
