New bishop's vicar for Viennese institutes of consecrated life

Wien, Österreich - In the Archdiocese of Vienna, a change at the top of the bishop's vicares took place. P. Erich Bernhard (66), a Kalasantine and long -time priest, was appointed the new bishop's vicar for the institutes of consecrated life. This was done after the resignation of his predecessor, the Jesuit Gerwin comma (82), who did not position due to health problems. In his first message, P. Bernhard expressed his joy and commitment to actively contribute the medals and their spirituality to today's challenges of the Church, such as kathpress reported.

p. Bernhard, born in Zwettl, has a long career behind him that led him through different offices to this new responsibility. Among other things, he was a chaplain in the Kalasantinian parish of St. Josef in Vienna-Penzing and was committed to the beatification process of the founder P. Anton Maria Schwartz. For him, the necessary dimensions of cooperation and dialogue with the religious communities are top priority. P. Bernhard wants to strengthen the connection between the charisms of the order and the pastoral needs of the archdiocese.
