Michaela Kotaskova: With strength and grief for defending the title!
Michaela Kotaskova remains the undisputed World champion! The 33-year-old boxing athlete triumphed on Saturday at the 15th Bounce Fight Night in the Hotel Intercontinental in Vienna and successfully defended her world weight title against the Swedish challenger Mikaela Lauren. In an exciting competition, the four -time Austrian state champion clearly prevailed on points, and the judges crowned her again as the world champion. The fight was exciting from the start to finish, but in the second round Lauren suffered a deep cut over the left eye, which Kotaskova gave the upper hand. "With the gong to round 1 I was completely focused and hidden the mourning for Daniel," said Kotaskova.
The fight was not only sporty proof of Kotaskovas, but also for their inner strength. Shortly before the big fight, she had to cope with the loss of her long -time coach and mentor Daniel Nader, who died on November 6 from Nerve Disease MSA (multiple system atrophy). Kotaskova emphasized that she wanted to give everything for him, even if the pain for his loss initially prevented her from fighting. "When I found out about his death, I didn't want to go to the ring at first," she admits, but finally she decided to do exactly what Nader would have liked. Marcos Nader, the brother of the late trainer, took over the management of the event after the fight and was proud of his sister's achievements.
Kotaskova and boxing
KOTASKOVA, which can mainly record success in her previous ten professional bumps, continues to plan her career in boxing. She also commented on unequal payment in women's boxes compared to men's boxes, but emphasized that sport and not money were important to her. "I do not box for financial reasons, but because of sports," said the world champion. Her commitment as a boxing and fitness trainer with celebrities like Silvia Schneider also gives her the opportunity to pass on her passion. During her successful career, she remains true to traditional competition sports and avoids the show area, in which large names like Mike Tyson also earn her money, which she feels "sporty", as Kurier reported.
