Luxembourg's Martins moves from Austria Vienna to Almere FC!
The Luxembourg Marvin Martins has left the Viennese Austria and switches to Almere City to the Netherlands with immediate effect. The "Veilchen" announced this departure on Friday, shortly before the start of training. The 29-year-old defender had been with Austria since 2021 and came up with a total of 85 competitive games for the club. This season, however, Martins had only four missions with a total of 172 minutes of play, which contributed to his first change in the winter transfer window, reports today.T.
Career change in turbulent times
Martins joins a club that is currently in 17th place in the eredivisia and therefore only ranks just before relegation. No information was published about the transfer modalities of the transfer. Almere City already has connections to Austria, for example through ex-hardberg player Ruben Providence and the loan of Samuel Sahin-Radlinger, who was active at Almere last season. Martin's departure follows the return of the Brazilian rental player Cristiano to his homeland, which further drives the upheaval of the Viennese, according to today.at.
The move to Almere City is another step for Martins, which previously gained experience in the Luxembourg league and international clubs such as Karpaty Lwiw and Casa Pia AC before switching to the Austrian Bundesliga club in 2021. During his time at Austria, he not only celebrated hard games, but also left a lasting impression with 66 Bundesliga missions on how data from Wikipedia confirm. His international career started in 2014 and now comprises several caps for the Luxembourg national team.
